About this opportunity

The Crown Dependencies Lab is expanding its engineering footprint at the Lloyds Technology Centre (LTC), Hyderabad, as part of the CE&D platform. The Lab supports critical digital and core banking capabilities across Crown Dependency markets, delivering customer‑facing digital channels and core platform services.

We are seeking a Grade F Engineering Lead to establish and lead feature‑aligned engineering teams covering Digital Channels (iOS, Android, Web (.Net)) and the Ocean platform, including Temenos Transact, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and PowerApps, supported by a dedicated QE Automation function. This role is pivotal in leading delivery, managing transition, setting up the lab organisation and operating model in Hyderabad, and driving strategic engineering initiatives in partnership with UK stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership & Delivery Ownership

  • Lead multiple feature‑aligned engineering teams across Mobile/Web Digital Channels and Temenos platform, ensuring predictable, high‑quality delivery outcomes
  • Own end‑to‑end engineering delivery across mobile, web, core platform, and automation streams, aligned to CE&D product priorities
  • Act as the senior engineering escalation point for delivery risks, technical dependencies, and capacity planning
  • Drive strong agile execution practices, ensuring alignment to platform standards, governance, and release controls

Transition, Setup & Lab Establishment

  • Lead the transition of work from UK and partner teams into LTC Hyderabad, ensuring continuity of service, knowledge transfer, and risk‑managed onboarding
  • Establish the Crown Dependencies Lab operating model in Hyderabad, including team structure, ways of working, and governance cadence
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and stabilisation of engineering and QE talent in partnership with HR and platform leadership
  • Build a high‑performing, inclusive engineering culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Drive modernization of the currency and core banking platform

Technology & Platform Oversight

  • Provide senior technical leadership across Digital Channels (iOS, Android, Web (.NET‑based services), Ocean Platform (Temenos Transact), and Enterprise platforms (Microsoft Dynamics 365 and PowerApps)
  • Work closely with Solution Architects to ensure designs are pragmatic, scalable, and delivery‑ready
  • Ensure engineering teams adhere to architectural standards, NFRs, security controls, and regulatory expectations
  • Drive technical debt management, environment stability, and platform resilience across the Lab

Quality Engineering & Automation Enablement

  • Lead and integrate QE Automation teams into feature delivery, embedding quality‑first and automation‑led practices
  • Ensure strong coverage across functional, regression, performance, and integration testing
  • Promote CI/CD enablement and automation to improve release confidence and reduce lead times
  • Drive consistent quality metrics and transparent reporting across teams

Strategic Initiatives & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner with CE&D leadership, UK product owners, architects, and service teams to shape the Crown Dependencies engineering roadmap
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives including platform modernisation, operational efficiency, and regulatory alignment
  • Represent the Lab in senior delivery, governance, and portfolio forums
  • Support vendor and partner engagement where required, ensuring accountability and value delivery

Required Skills & Experience

Technical & Delivery Experience

  • 20+ years of experience in software engineering and delivery, with significant experience leading large or distributed engineering teams
  • Strong background in digital channel development (mobile and web) and enterprise application platforms
  • Experience working with Temenos Transact or equivalent core banking platforms
  • Exposure to modernization of Temenos to TMVault or similar core banking modernisation approaches
  • Proven delivery experience across .NET, mobile (iOS/Android), and enterprise Microsoft platforms (Dynamics 365, PowerApps) or Pega
  • Solid understanding of modern SDLC practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation‑led quality engineering
  • Experience operating in regulated, highly controlled environments

Leadership & Behavioural Skills

  • Proven people leader with experience building and scaling engineering teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior technology and business leaders
  • Comfortable balancing hands‑on technical credibility with strategic and organisational leadership
  • Clear communicator able to translate delivery and technology considerations into business‑focused outcomes
  • Experience leading transitions, offshore/nearshore setups, or new lab establishments is strongly preferred
