About the role

You assemble, maintain and repair bicycles in accordance with MEC's guidelines for productivity, quality and safety. You advise and train front-line staff on bicycle repair processes and procedures. You perform all repairs with MEC's sustainability principles in mind. In winter, bicycle mechanics help our ski workshop, which means you install, adjust and repair ski bindings and skis. You help members obtain quality equipment with the cutting-edge advice they need to feel inspired in their activity. You work behind the scenes and on the front line to organize inventory and provide members with the products they need. You speak to our products with members. You have in-depth knowledge and love sharing your personal recommendations. You have an affinity for helping people of all levels find the right product.

MEC is more than a store. We are a hub for the outdoor community, a leader in sustainability and a place where you can be yourself. People come to us to try new things and plan new adventures, and as a bicycle mechanic, you will be there to help make it all happen. Members (what we call customers) visit us for gear and advice on hiking, camping, climbing, cycling, water sports, snow sports and travel. You will talk with people preparing dream trips or weekend getaways, from novices to outdoor activity experts. We asked staff members what they liked most about working at MEC, and the most frequent answer was "the people".
