About The Role: The Manager, Demand Planning owns the development, governance, and continuous improvement of the demand forecast, serving as the primary interface between Commercial and Supply Chain functions. This role leads the creation of statistically driven, consensus-based demand plans using historical trends, commercial inputs, and analytical insights. The resulting forecasts serve as the foundation for supply, inventory, and financial planning decisions. This position acts as the subject matter expert for demand planning processes, leads IBP Demand reviews and AOP forecasting activities, and is accountable for forecast accuracy, bias management, and planning assumptions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Own the development of accurate demand forecasts across assigned business categories using statistical models, historical data, and commercial inputs Develop and maintain rolling demand forecasts across multiple levels of aggregation over a 12-24 month horizon Accountable for forecast accuracy, bias, and demand volatility metrics and their downstream impact on service, inventory, and cost Lead IBP Demand Consensus Reviews and contribute to IBP Step 3 and S&OE forums, clearly communicating forecast changes, demand risks, and assumptions Drive alignment with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure consensus demand plans reflect the latest market intelligence and commercial strategies Partner with Supply Planning to translate demand signals into feasible supply and inventory strategies Develop, document, challenge, and continuously improve demand planning assumptions, models, and processes Lead or support enhancements to demand planning tools, data quality, and reporting capabilities Coordinate root cause analysis for significant forecast variances and implement process improvements Note: This list presents only the principal duties of the position and is not intended to be comprehensive. QualificationsEducation and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or related field 3-5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or commercial analytics (food or CPG manufacturing preferred) Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM or CSCP are preferred, but not required Competencies and Skills: Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate data into business insights Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with planning systems and tools (ERP/MRP required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 and data visualization tools such as Power BI are a plus) Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and levels without formal authority Clear, inclusive, and concise communication skills, including the ability to present insights and recommendations to leaders Physical Demands: This role is primarily office-based and typically involves extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, and participating in meetings.
