Summary
The Dispatcher plays a vital role in the success of our logistics and customer service functions. This position drives the efficiency and overall performance of the dock, utilizing shipping associates to meet the outbound load schedule. The Dispatcher is required to understand the process of an order from start to finish, utilizing all tools to process orders to be shipped by schedule time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Enter production into D365
- Contact carriers for information
- Maintain Trailer Pool Report
- Enter Bay Maintenance information into D365
- Prioritize outbound shipments based on schedules
- Set up dock doors
- Pre-pick orders
- PGI departing shipments
- Print Bill of Ladings
- Print Packaging List
- Set up LTL and small package shipments with carriers
- Create Factory BOL for intercompany shipments
- Perform all TPM activities required
- Coordinate positioning of equipment with yard service personnel
- Other duties as assigned
Education
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
Experience and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of computer systems including MS Office, SAP and TMS programs; ability to learn new job-related software
- Advanced mathematics skills required (counting accuracy, excel formulas, etc.)
- Excellent attention to details and accuracy required
- Must be respectful and work well with all levels of personnel
- Must be able to work cooperatively with counterpart(s), leadership, security, third party contractors and other teams to ensure excellent customer service and team spirit
- Must have conflict resolution skills and be able to deal with people in stressful situations in a mature and controlled manner
- Great work attitude, with excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be assertive yet tactful
- Must be able to work overtime on short notice basis; long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required to maintain manufacturing processes
- Ability to work in high temperatures (hot or cold), working at heights and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes and chemical or require personal protective equipment
- Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment
- Must be able to pass a post offer pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment background check, and pre-employment physical
