About the Role

A Business Analyst, D365 ERP translates stakeholder requirements into technical specifications, supports data-driven projects, and leverages technology to meet strategic goals, specifically focusing on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O). This role also contributes to process and technology optimization and training throughout all ERP project phases. Frequent stakeholder engagement across all functions and levels of the organization is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the configuration, testing, and maintenance of D365 F&O across all implemented modules (e.g. Finance, Operations, Expense Mgmt.)
  • Map and validate data migrations and monitor interfaces between D365 and other connected systems; support error handling activities
  • Collect, clarify, and document business requirements, translating them into actionable, high-quality documentation
  • Study business functions to identify bottlenecks and develop strategies for enhancing operational efficiency
  • Monitor, maintain, and support automated ERP business processes to ensure continuity of critical operations
  • Serve as a functional point of contact for D365, providing daily application support to manage end user requests, troubleshoot issues, and track pain points through resolution
  • Act as a liaison between business units and IT, assisting with the selection, development, and implementation of new technology, including AI/automation
  • Utilize data modeling techniques to assess current company performance and create actionable, data-driven reports
  • Facilitate communication between departments to ensure alignment of goals
  • Develop test plans and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and conduct audits to ensure system improvements meet business needs
  • Track and monitor performance within Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Monitor and maintain controls and compliance, especially data governance
  • Support efforts to identify control improvements and advancements
  • Support the development of ERP training materials and deliver training to end users as needed
  • Partner with team members, stakeholders, and subject matter experts on ERP initiatives and enhancements
  • Conduct discovery to identify, define, and document business requirements; translate requirements into functional design documents (FDDs)
  • Partner with development teams to build, test, and implement ERP solutions
  • Identify, document, test, and validate system setup, configuration, and integration changes
  • Support change management activities and communication related to ERP updates and system releases
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify risks, issues, or improvement opportunities

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in a business analyst, systems analyst, or IT-related role, with proven implementation and/or support experience in Microsoft D365 F&O
  • Experience with additional CRM, HRIS, or similar enterprise platforms is a plus
  • A track record of supporting complex system implementations or upgrades is a plus

System & Functional Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of D365 Finance & Operations (F&O) modules
  • Strong grasp of business processes, including order-to-cash (O2C), procure-to-pay (P2P), or finance processes (GL, AP, AR)
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) is preferred
  • Proficiency with SQL database tools and data visualization software is a plus
  • Experience with ITSM systems like DevOps or Jira is a plus

Skills & Certifications:

  • Proven ability to document complex processes, analyze data, and perform gap/fit analysis
  • Excellent communication skills are essential to engage with senior leadership, project stakeholders, and cross functional teams
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Microsoft and/or Dynamics 365 certifications are a plus
  • PMP, Scrum Master, or similar certification is a plus
