Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and oversee the general ledger including preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, account analysis
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
- Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
- Manage and mentor accounting staff (Accounts Payable and Staff Accountant)
- Correspond and verbally communicate in a professional manner with customers
- Represent the Company in a professional manner, with a high degree of respect for all existing and potential customers
- Ad hoc reporting as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years of direct experience in accounting capacity
- Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing
Reasoning Skills
- Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to handle late payments and delinquent accounts
- Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Strong knowledge of payment regulations and fair credit practices
- High level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions
- Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information, and preparing financial reports
- Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills

Computer-Based Skills
- Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Business Central or similar ERP system is highly preferred
